[ She can hear it all, even focuses on it for a moment, his movement in the kitchen.
Davina doesn't answer, and even though it's not as if he doesn't know she's in there she wishes he'd just let her freak out alone. But of course he wouldn't, he's Kol - the Mikaelson she's so utterly head over heels for, who always seemed to know what to do or say.
But still she stays quiet for a long moment, and when he doesn't leave, she just lets out a sigh. ]
I'm sorry.
[ The two words are muffled from behind the door, but she says them loud enough for him. And somehow, those words were a vocal admittance to what she'd done, and that's when it really hits her, causing the water works to start. The tears that stream down her face feel hotter than usual, and she slams her head back, causing a loud bang against the door.
She sucks in a breath, unable to silence a sob as everything comes crashing down.
The ancestors did this to her, and she knew exactly why.
Not only had she "wasted" their power on bringing Kol back but she'd promised to deal with Klaus - something that was longer than a lifetime job.
They'd ruined her life. Again.
She doesn't say go away, actually fearful that he might. ]
[ He's not even sure how it's possible. She still had her magic. If she'd been turned any normal way, which she wouldn't have been anyway, that disconnect would have been the first thing she felt. And yet here she is, still making glass explode despite... well.
Kol leans against the doorframe, suddenly feeling exhausted. ]
We've got the Ancestors to thank for this, don't we.
I tried to tear your throat out, Kol! How is that not my fault?! [ At least she still has the will to yell. That's a good sign... Right?
Arms wrap around herself tightly, not ready to try to open the door and risk his life again. This is some kind of sick joke, and maybe they were getting her back for betraying them... She wants to scream, or punch something...
Shakily, she moves to her feet, heading over the sink to flick the faucet on, trying to wash away the remnants of the attack, even going as far as to swish water around in her mouth to try to get rid of the taste. When she turns the water back off, she finds herself back in front of the door between them, still too afraid to try to open it. ] I don't know who else to blame for it.
[ A pause from her end. ]
Promise me, if I try that again you'll stop me even if it takes a stake to the heart.
[ He could blame her. He's sure he could. But he doesn't, he knows what those instincts feel like. What it's like to forget himself, what it's like to want to. Maybe it'll be different for her, because this isn't vampirism as he knows it, but some things probably aren't so different. He sighs. ]
Davina- I'm not going to kill you. I won't promise you that. But I do promise that I'll stop you and find some way to snap you out of it.
[ She sighs, unlocking the door slowly, and even after that it takes her a moment to open it, finally bringing herself to look up at him. There's an even longer moment of hesitation before she reaches up to rest her hand against the spot on his throat.
She doesn't seem to mind or care about their state of undress as she steps towards him, forehead finding his chest. Arms move to wrap around him loosely. ]
I didn't bring you back just for you to die again.
[ If she killed him on accident, she'd never forgive herself. ]
