[ His response causes her to grin, ducking her head down to hide behind her hair, when she looks back to him, he's taking the tapestry and she waits for him to get out of the ritual bed. When he does she can't help but hold her hands out, ready to catch him if he couldn't stand, not at all wanting him to get hurt. ]
I see I had to twist your arm.
[ She moves to wrap her arm around him and pull him against her side, hoping to make walking easier. ]
I can stop by the shop across the street and pick you up some clothes too.
[ Because she has mixed emotions about the idea of him prancing around her apartment naked. But she begins moving, slowly, wanting to ease him into walking. ]
Unless you prefer me wrapped in ancient dusty rags, darling.
[ He wraps an arm around her shoulder with the raise of his eyebrows, his smile just slightly wicked. For all that he can't help feeling as weak as he does, he tries not to lean on her too much. A spell like that would have taken a lot out of her, even with the help of the Ancestors. Step by careful step, he finds that walking is a thing he can manage. ]
[ There's a sly smile on her lips, after all his attempts at wooing her, she's fairly certain if she said she had an ancient dusty rag clad boyfriend kink, he'd try to go there. ]
You okay? [ She feels somewhat bad she's not strong enough to carry him, like he'd done for her. It won't be long until they get to her apartment, but she's still worried about him. Call her fussy, but she hasn't seen him in too long, and she knows he has to be weak from coming back to life, if going off her state of being is anything to go by, he probably feels awful.
The migraine budding in her skull wasn't going to be pleasant, she was sure. ]
Fine, actually. Bit weak in the knees, but I'm sure that will pass with time.
[ He's been worse. He's been so much worse. So if his feet hurt and his senses are in overdrive, if he has trouble focusing and has to strain to keep his own magic and the residue of the ritual from just doing whatever, well. It's a small price to pay. ]
What about you? That spell was nothing to scoff at.
[ Most other witches would've burned themselves out trying. He's surprised she's even on her feet, all things considered. ]
[ She gives him a small smile, pleased that there seem to be no awful side effects to the spell. He was alive, in his own body, with his magic, and the hex was long gone. ]
I'm fine. [ She's not going to mention the headache because it's nothing important compared to everything else going on. ] I thought I'd be more tired...
[ If they got weird looks on the way to her apartment, or if anyone was actually around to give her weird looks, well she didn't notice, her full attention was on him. It's kind of a surprise to her how easy it was to get him from the tomb to her place but there they are at her front door. Right keys.
Her free hand fishes through her pockets looking for them. When she finds them she pauses, looking up to Kol. ]
My apartment isn't as big as your family house. [ Sudden nerves???? ]
[ The further they walked, the less he needed to lean on her. In fact, he had the attention to spare to give some of those who stared at them a brilliant, shit-eating grin. This is all going awfully easily, all things considered, though, perhaps he should be waiting for the other shoe to drop? Ah, but for right now he isn't worrying quite yet. ]
It isn't? [ Feigned shock goes here. ]
Well that's definitely going to ruin everything about spending a night at my girlfriend's place for the first time.
[ The look she gives him says a million things, and none of them are too nice. But then he offers his own form of reassurance, and anything fiery dies on her tongue, instead she moves to unlock the door and help him maneuver through it. It was surprisingly large for something a 17 year old without a job would have, but then, Marcel had a lot of connections. It takes no effort at all to help him over to one of the reclining chairs by the sofa.
His implication makes her frown though. ]
Are you only spending the night? [ That's the loaded question she fixes him with when she closes the door behind them, hanging her keys on a key holder by the door. Have fun with actually having loaded girlfriend questions Kol, because that's definitely a thing that's happening now. ]
[ Kol slumps into the chair with all the grace a new body affords him, which isn't a lot. Adjusting the tapestry still draped over him is more of an afterthought, but she may appreciate that he remembered to all the same. Sitting down gives him a chance to observe, but where he could be finding out things about her place, he's just watching Davina. ]
That depends on what you're inviting me for. Are you asking me to move in with you?
[ She is appreciative, it's a little freaky to have a pretty much naked guy in her apartment - let alone a Mikaelson - it was bizarre. But she realises pretty quickly that his dark gaze is on her and not snooping as she assumed he would be. He seems like the type to go through someone's medicine cabinets to see what's up.
But that's a terrifying question to her question... So she meets him with another... question.. ] Do you have anywhere else to go while I'm keeping you a secret?
[ But she doesn't allow him to answer before posing another, slightly offended question. ] Should I not be asking you to move in with me? [ Because now she's worried she shouldn't have asked at all. Instead of allowing herself to crumble under his unfamiliar, yet just as intense stare, she heads into the open kitchen. Her first stop is getting Kol a glass of water, only to pause in her plans to try to wash off the ash and mud that was spread up to her elbows. When she decides she's done a sufficient job, she looks for something for him to snack on... Something high in sugar... She pouts at the last doughnut in the box before snatching it up and putting it on a plate for him. ]
[ His siblings would laugh at the suggestion. He would laugh at the suggestion, or would have, just a few weeks ago. Now he's thinking about it, or trying to, while attempting to do something about her offended tone at the same time. ]
Davina- that's not what I said. [ He sighs and gets up, follows after her, steadier on his feet than he expected to be. Now he is glancing around, but his eyes always come back to her. ]
There's no place I'd rather be. [ And it's the truth. Which is slightly scary, all things considered. ]
But I have to admit, I'm still getting used to someone trusting me. [ That is, of course, despite knowing. ]
[ Good thing Davina doesn't like any of his siblings to begin with. ]
It doesn't have to be permanent, just until things have calmed down and then if you want you can go back and live with you family.
[ She's already trying to backtrack but then he says there's nowhere he'd rather be and she all but melts at the sentiment, blue eyes watching him with a far softer look. ]
You kind of died for me, I think that makes the whole not trusting you thing kind of pointless. Besides - I've trusted you for a while. It's everyone else that keeps lying to me.
[ She slides the plate and glass to on the countertop him before turning her sights back on the kitchen. It's neat, tidy and modern, unfortunately it's currently barren. She hasn't had time to eat or sleep for a long time, simply trying to bring Kol back.
So it's probably not a surprise when she ends up settling for a poptart. She lets out a hum of thought before pulling herself up on the counter, watching him. ]
[ He did do that, it's true. Without even thinking about it, really. But then, he hadn't expected Finn to kill him either. ]
That's a yes.
[ Water? Water seems like a great plan, he picks up his glass and leans against the counter, looking up at her. Trying not drag his mind back out of the gutter as he drinks is surprisingly easy when he realizes how utterly empty the kitchen is. ]
[ She raises an arched eyebrow, for once having the ability to look down at him, instead of being a whole foot shorter than him. As if to prove her point that she does what she wants she opens the wrapper before breaking a piece off and popping it in her mouth.
Her stomach hurts, and she's not sure eating will help at this point, being that hungry. ]
I invited you to move in with me as my boyfriend not as Marcel.
[ She likes to think she can survive just fine by herself, thank you very much Kol. ]
[ Kol scoffs at the mention of Marcel. He empties the glass, gestures with it still in hand, but the way she's pointedly eating at him makes him smile. He knows that game. ]
And as your boyfriend, I'd rather you didn't feel like you were hit by a truck when you wake up in the morning.
[ She tips a shoulder up in a half shrug before reaching out to take the glass from him, giving him and then his doughnut a pointed stare as if saying "eat something" as she leans across the counter to the sink to fill his glass back up. ]
I feel fine, Kol.
[ Which... She feels a lot more fine than she'd expect to feel after preforming such a spell. ]
Besides I can pick up some takeout on my way back from getting you something to wear.
[ She holds the water back out to him. The little witch pauses however, watching him, distracted by something, like he's got something on his face. Before she breaks out into a smile. ]
[ He accepts the refilled glass, about to argue further, but then, if there's takeout, that seems fair. Also, his girlfriend is staring at him. He looks right back, confident as ever. ]
So I take it you do agree my own body is more handsome than the borrowed one.
I'm not looking at your body, [ Liar. ] I'm looking at your smile. Why, are you jealous I think Kaleb was cuter than you? [ Oh now that smile, it is so clearly teasing. But she can't just agree and let him win. ]
Still haven't decided. [ Wow, she's just full of lies today. ] Kaleb was really good looking. [ It's not like she wasn't totally drawn to him because of his personality or anything. The first time they'd met and he had the bravado to smile at her like that - like she was worth smiling at. ]
[ His smile widens, and the mischief in it seems to naturally belong there. Lazily Kol shifts where he leans against the counter, intentionally giving her a better view, and never breaks eye contact. ]
You'll have time to make up your mind.
[ Like it's all the same to him. But that's an offer, if she wants to take it that way, because of course it is. Maybe he's just come back to life, maybe he shouldn't try to do much right now, but he's also standing mostly naked in his girlfriend's kitchen, comfortable in his own skin even under scrutiny. ]
Edited (it turns out I had more words.) 2015-05-12 10:26 (UTC)
I guess I do. [ Davina smiles, raising an eyebrow before putting her long forgotten poptart on the counter and placing a palm down flat against the cool countertop to hold herself up as she leans over to chase after his lips for a kiss.
The little Marcel voice in her head - the one of reason said to behave and not tempt fate... the little Josh voice in her head said kiss the hell out of her hot boyfriend. It's quite obvious which one she's decided to listen to.
Because obviously feeling like she was hit by a truck in the morning mattered. Tell that to the adrenaline pumping through her veins. ]
[ Kol finds it difficult to argue with her priorities when he's apparently at the top of the list. That is to say, her kissing him is a great way of shutting him up, and he reaches up to tangle his fingers in her hair.
[ A grin is pressed against his lips as she reaches a hand out to pull him closer, legs wrapping around him to block off any escape, not that she figured he would attempt one, kissing her back seems to be something he could get behind.
When she's got him where she wants him, her hands move to rest on either side of his jaw before sliding up into his hair.
So it's probably not the smartest thing to do - kiss the holy hell out of the guy that just came back to life and has only had water... but she's feeling selfish at thr moment.
One of the hands that wound into his hair moves back down, fingertips tracing over his skin as it moves to rest over his beating heart, and she swears she can hear it with each thud. ]
[ Speaking of water, time to put that glass down somewhere to the side because there are more important things to do that he would like both hands for. His newly freed hand slides up her side and to her back, craving contact.
He's grinning against her lips when her legs wrap around him. No, he doesn't mind, and how selfish is it really when what they both want lines up this nicely? With her hand over his heart, he slows down a moment, but his pulse speeds up. Kol can guess what she's doing and lets her. The fact he has a body and a beating heart is all thanks to her, anyway.
Remember that tapestry though? With no hands holding it in place, it has pretty much fallen off, currently draped more over Davina's legs than doing anything to cover up her boyfriend. ]
[ Her hand stays against his heart, and for the entirety of its stay he may notice her magic against his, channeling him without any real need to other than to feel the connection. And she's oddly still able to after such a strong spell. His skin felt hot under her fingertips, like she could feel so much more than she ever could before - of course, she'd never molested Kol either, had she?
But the grin causes her to pull back slightly, pausing only for blue eyes to flicker down him, before she's tugging the hem of her shirt up and over her head to drop it somewhere on the counter, more focused on pulling him back into a kiss with her free hand with surprising strength. Okay, that wasn't making it entirely even at all, but for the time being she didn't want to de-tangle herself away from him to worry about anything else.
She presses a kiss to the corner of his lips, before trailing kisses down his jaw to his throat. Ultimately her lips end up on his pulse point, her free hand tugging his head to the side slighty to give her better access to his throat - not really thinking about what she's doing before sharp teeth are sliding through the soft skin like butter. ]
[ There are things going wrong and things going wrong. Granted, it nagged on him to think of how she had all this strength left after such a spell, but not enough to question it too much. He'd put it off with thoughts of the Ancestors' help, and reminding herself how strong Davina really was. Maybe she just had that much more power than he'd expected now.
And there might have been a vague sense of alarm when she pulls him towards her because he knows she can't be that strong, and isn't, but he's entirely distracted at that point anyway. Kol drinks in the sight of her, heart racing and just letting their magic intertwine because they can, and skirting the edge of a trance as they are, he pays the warning bells no mind at all.
Fangs opening his skin, though?
That's a whole nother matter.
He hisses and instinctively shoves away from her with all his strength, as does his magic, a panicked knee-jerk reaction that might make his wound worse, but he's not thinking at all right now. ]
[ The force at which they are separated is jarring and all Davina was really certain of is she just tried to eat her boyfriend, and she was left there, staring at him with the same expression a deer might have in the face of a semi on the highway. Blue eyes stay wide, and on his throat, and while she can taste that yes, that had been her, and it had tasted far better than one should expect blood to taste, she still has to bring a hand up to her mouth, touching her lips and staring at the bloodstained fingertips in horror.
Normally, this situation would lead her to be horrified that she was sitting on her counter shirtless, but instead she's stuck looking at the red on her fingers - her hand started shaking along the way. But she couldn't pull her eyes away from it.
She'd just attacked Kol.
She wasn't supposed to be like this.
And then like a light, something else is switched on and she lets out a scream that sounds more pained than anything, hands going up to press at her temples as if trying to will the vampirism away. She doesn't even notice how the glass that had held his water shatters or how the lights burst with the influx of emotional magic.
There was one thing she was sure of - she was going to be sick.
Her hand shoots out towards Kol, and then her magic follows, sending him farther back than he already was, keeping him at bay so she could shove herself off the counter top and scurry towards the bathroom before he could catch her. Door slamming shut with enough force that caused the wall to shudder.
She didn't want this. How could she still feel her magic? How could she let herself hurt Kol? Her bare back leans against the door before she slides down it, sitting against it with her knees drawn up close.
The witch can't even bring herself to lick or wipe the blood left on her lips away, instead she just keeps sliding her tongue over the sharp teeth, trying to make sense of it, trying to understand what went wrong. ]
